What is levarTravel?

A levarTravel is a cultural and adventure travel company, with sustainable tourism as its main focus. The company was founded in 2020 by young Portuguese people passionate about travel and concerned about the social and environmental impact of tourism in the most remote places, which can cause irreversible problems.

To reduce the negative side effects of tourism, these young people felt the need to encourage others to travel with more responsibly, benefiting local communities, protecting the environment, and valuing the traditional culture of the country they intend to visit.

levarTravel offers authentic experiences, with guaranteed sustainability, favoring collaborations with small local businesses in order to boost the economy of the region. levarTravel's trips shows what the photographs do not transmit, such as the smells, tastes and sounds of the explored lands, as well as the kindness and friendliness of the people, and the opportunity to feel the greatest charms of our planet.

Mission, Vision, Values and Focus

levarTravel, founded in 2020, is a cultural and adventure travel company, with a vision of the future based on the sustainability of our planet and its regeneration, and fully focused on the development and contribution of social, animal and environmental causes.

levarTravel intends to be an active voice in the defense and welfare of our planet, having established partnerships with volunteer and community solidarity institutions, with the purpose of playing a preponderant role in the growth and development strategies of those institutions.

levarTravel values responsible and sustainable tourism, benefiting the natural and economic environment of local people, through conscious choices, to mitigate negative impacts while traveling. We demonstrate that it is possible to travel sustainably and to have authentic experiences with a lower budget, while maintaining quality. We also consider sustainability when travelling to urban centers, in cultural and gastronomic activities, and in the way of consuming.

levarTravel intends to encourage young and old people to travel, as well as get to know completely different realities, letting the pleasure of the moment take them to the depths of each culture, through direct contact with locals. levarTravel aims to instill the spirit of free travel to all its customers, through contact with locals, sharing with them the same means of transport, and the same table. Living close to their culture, playing with local children, smelling their typical smells, tasting the delights of each village and feeling their surroundings, are part of our daily travel. 

levarTravel intends to be only an auxiliary element in the experience of each traveler, leaving the spotlight to the moments shared with natives, the stunning landscapes, the deep feelings and all the history created by each element. Allowing travelers a sense of freedom while feeling the country that welcomes them, collecting memories that will be forever etched in their memories.

Our trips

levarTravel promotes sustainable travel, through a service of organized trips that include accommodation, transportation and activities, and each trip supports a local social or conservation association. The goal is to provide unique moments, getting into the intimate of each country, favoring the less touristy places, leaving a positive mark in the region. We intend to show the reality of the people, their modus vivendi, and the most genuine thing they have to offer: a smile and a good conversation. Immerse yourself in their culture, share moments and be part of their history, that's all that levarTravel provides. The accommodations will be of quality and quite diverse, from hotels and hostels, through hostels to guesthouses and even family houses. Whenever possible, we give priority to local business, and as for transport we can use private cars, public buses, trains, shared cabs, subways, boats, tuk-tuks, motorcycles, among others.

Our trips will always be accompanied by one of our leaders, deeply knowledgeable about the destination that is hosting us at the moment and ready to share all their knowledge with the travelers. Our leaders are experienced travelers who feel each trip as if it were their first, with a contagious enthusiasm and an infinite thirst to discover and explore every corner of the world. Our trips have a maximum of 12 members, providing a close relationship among the group. Creating bonds of friendship through the sharing of experiences, experiences and stories are fundamental ingredients in a trip with levarTravel.

levarTravel also has a tailor-made service, which consists of planning, organizing and booking trips for individual customers or groups, who want to enjoy the most of the chosen destination without the worry and stress of the whole pre-travel process. Tailor-made trips offer greater flexibility and the opportunity to enjoy a dream vacation. To take advantage of this service, the customer decides how and when to travel, what type of accommodation, transport and activities he is looking for, and levarTravel takes care of everything, in what concerns the organization and booking of the trip.

levarTravel created a Volunteer Project in order to appeal to all travelers for community solidarity. LevarTravel intends to potentiate the local development, whenever possible through volunteer work and monetary contributions, donating a percentage of the profits to a non-profit organization (social and/or environmental), or even a needy family of the region.
